A necessary handbook for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises

The handbook “How to benefit from DCFTA. Practical guide” was developed by the Business Union of Latvia (www.savieniba.lv) in cooperation with Georgian association “Women in Business” (www.gawb.ge), Social Strategic Researches and Analytical Investigations Public Union (Azerbaijan) and NGO BIOS (Moldova, http://bios.ong.md) in the framework of the project “Benefiting from Free EU Market: A Practical Guide to SMEs for Learning DCFTA in Latvia’s Experience”.

This handbook was developed on the basis of stakeholder discussions at the round table and workshops in Georgia, Azerbaijan and Moldova. The guide describes the situation of SMEs in the countries that have fulfilled the project, the opportunities that offer DCFTA for enterprises. A particular interest for SMEs presents examples of good practices and failures in Latvia’s export to the EU, as well as practical advice for entrepreneurs on how to prepare themselves better and more actively to use the benefits created by DCFTA. The analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of some export products from Georgia, Moldova and Azerbaijan, as well as the opportunities and risks related to the export of these products to the EU are concrete examples that can serve as a reference for entrepreneurs to take into account both the internal and external environment in the decision to export production to the EU.

We hope that this practical ghide will be useful both to entrepreneurs and to all stakeholders who have or want to trade with EU countries.

The English version of the Handbook is available here (HANDBOOK ON DCFTA), while the Romanian one can be accessed here Ghid pentru IMM-uri. Cum sa beneficiem de AA.
